Learn to Paint a Blossom Tree.

It’s been two years since my online art classes were last offered and it’s time to do things a little differently. I’m offering a very limited number of classes designed for a small group so I can maintain the level of teaching I achieve in a bespoke one to one class. Many of my students know that in the past I’ve only offered one to one classes.

The group will be made up of 4-5 students and each class will run for 2 hours.

There are two classes on offer. They have been designed to give you a good understanding of how to paint popular elements of Persian miniatures. One focuses on flowers and the other on blossom trees.

Blossom and Trees

The iconic blossom tree is seen throughout the many landscapes painted in Persian miniatures. They move up from the ground almost swaying and dancing with their branches twisting and turning elegantly, adorned with eye catching blossom that travel up to the tips of the branches. I’ve always been fascinated by their beautiful stylised forms inspired by nature.

The class will cover:

• Tracing and transferring the design over to final paper

• How to block paint the tree trunk and it’s branches

• Learn and practice an Iranian traditional rendering method called Pardakht which allows you to add layers of detail to create depth with shading blossom with more than one shade.

• Lastly you will learn and practice how to outline with a very fine brush
